Overend Street Residence is a thoughtful blend of heritage preservation and modern design. Retaining the original front façade, the home maintains its connection to the streetscape while the rear was reimagined with a bold contemporary addition.

The design juxtaposes light tones at the front with dark-stained finishes at the back, highlighting the contrast between old and new. The front’s traditional elements, like visible gutters and a prominent verandah, are preserved, while the rear addition embraces sleek lines, expansive windows, and a minimalist aesthetic.

The renovation also involved a carefully integrated floor plan. The bathroom was relocated centrally, a seamless kitchen-to-living room flow was achieved, and additional space was extended into the backyard. Despite these updates, meticulous attention was given to ensuring the transition between the old and new sections feels seamless.
